I'm getting the E 900 Laptop for my summer course, I'm getting the 20g linux version. I was wondering if anyone knew of some low system req linux compatible games. Secondarily, can Steam or WoW run on Linux? I'm fairly sure it comes with Ubuntu installed. Another thing, can one viably run games off an external HD or Memory?

Thinking of getting one when they come out (I don't think they're out). They're small light with meager processing capability and 20g HD space. I'm probably gonna load starcraft or something on it but it won't play much else and I'm primarily going to use it for School. Anyone else heard of it?

I'm also planning on using my Laptop to Torrent and DL stuff with, I'm planning on running Ubuntu on it, I had some questions though. Were should I download Ubunutu? What's a good "Private Tracker" for Tv and Movies and such? What kind of external Drive should I get? if anyone knows halp would be appreciated
. But overall I'm excited to get started using Linux, my whole life I've been using windows, I don't dislike windows nor do I plan to stop using it. All I'm saying is that it's going to be interesting trying a new OS.

recently over easter weekend I've been staying up till like 4, 5 am. This has caused me to sleep till like 1pm. Although I found I liked gaming and stuff better later at night. This is most likely due to the fact that no one disturbs me and it's quite quiet. Compared to during the day when I have my mother yelling at me to do stuff people contacting me over msn/xfire and my sister running in demanding to play Wii. My question to you is what do you prefer nightime or daytime?

So I was having monitor display problems and I decided that I should downgrade back to XP. Right now I'm looking for a cool skin to add to XP, because I'm tired of the bland standard one. Although the only problem I'm having is that windows will only see 1 of my 3 hard drives. Even in BIOS it only detects one, this has proved to be frustrating. If anyone has a solution halp plx. I'm now thinking I should of backed up my Steam games because I'm having to re-DL them all which takes forevar! I joined a Clan for TF2 it's called TAW. The only thing I don't like is that they have practices I have to show up to =\. Although it's only 2 hours a weeks it still can be inconvenient; although that's significantly less than WoW.

So far I have successfully been able to solve all of my Vista issues ! (pats self on back) I reduced my base ram usage by 512mb and I still have the cool alt tab thing. I also was able to make my new anti-virus Kaspersky not interfere with gaming or steam downloads. I recently made a rough background for Napalm Riot which can be located under the New Logos thread. I accidentally merged all visible layers and didn't realize till later on. I made sure my computer was recognizing both cards. This has increased my performance significantly. Right now I'm playing around with my Motherboard Control thing AI Suite which allows me to do a considerable amount of cool stuff. Although I still have some issues like whenever I kill someone in TF2 and it goes to the kill cam the screen flashes like mad >.<. and whenever I boot up Photoshop (CS3) it QQ's to me that I need to calibrate my monitor. I think that means so that things will print the same as they look on the screen although I'm not entirely sure. As soon as I find my DS I'm going to obtain via internet the Kingdom Hearts game for DS. Although this is the JP version Kingdom hearts has never really been text intensive and with my basic understanding of Japanese and a translation guide I should do fine. I couldn't find it earlier because like many JP games the English title is significantly different. I'm currently enjoying a 4 day weekend which I'm spending mainly playing games most of my friends are away skiing or whatever so really there isn't much to do. For those who play WoW I would like to announce that my alt Priest is almost 63! I took a break from leveling him and subsequently all the people I was leveling with are now 70. So I demand they halp me :P!

Currently I'm choosing my grade 11 courses for next year. The courses that I choose now impact what I can choose later. Although the advantage I have over most is that I've decided what I want my future career to be. My planned career is Economist, I've read multiple books on the subject and I find statistics and what not fascinating. In order to attain the career I desire I need Calculus, and overall quite a bit of math. I've recently been researching what I'd need to get into a university for economics while completing a "Careers" assignment. The minimum average to get into first year is 65% for an undergraduate degree. From there most attain take a graduate degree which you need a 75% average to apply for. Economists also due fairly well salary wise, the Canadian average for first year of income was $44,000 and after the first five years or so it goes up to around $80,000. Although these are just averages and the income is purely defined by your education and the place you work.
Recently I've had problems with my headset and it's either really loud or really quite. This has caused many problems, I found the correct soundboard things to plug it into but I still have problems. If anyone knows anything about the subject input would be appreciated :D.

Eve or Star Trek Online ?

Recently I've been looking at the things in Eve online and Star Trek online and they have looked quite interesting. For Eve I liked the whole space economy type deal and having ships and that sort of thing. Although I am a big Star Trek fan and what I've seen so far of the Star Trek MMO has looked pretty cool. I'm still currently playing WoW, but it doesn't consume nearly as much of my time as when I was raiding. I was playing Ogame which is browser based and very slow, I found it was moderately entertaining but you could only play it for like 5minutes before having to wait several hours for something to complete. I knew someone who played Eve online, enjoyed the experience but doesn't really play it anymore.

Since I obtained my new computer I have been able to play games at a much higher performance level than I was used to. Because of this I've gotten back into Counter Strike: Source, also I was able to play a considerable amount of the games that I had received as Christmas gifts and games that my computer just wouldn't run well before. My list of PC games which I own and some I am playing but I plan to play them all is UT3, The Witcher, Neverwinter nights 2 (and Mask of Betrayer), Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1 & 2. Unfortunately I haven't had much time lately to play such titles but I am also now picking up some of the titles I used to not play much like CS:S and TF2. Vista or my new computer have been given' me trouble when it comes to DLing things by giving me slow DL times. I replaced the Vista Firewall with Kaspersky which was recommended to me by a friend. I am also running Peer Guardian 2, most of the things I've had to download are patches and stuff but also steam games. I had some trouble installing steam games but that is fixed. The only problem I am having is that I can't get Xfire to update I DLed it with NWN2 and it goes to the update screen, box, thing and is completely blank and does nothing. I also had trouble getting WoW installed I had to uninstall and reinstall like a billion times, but I'm dling the patch now and it seems to be working.

With my new computer I got a Samsung Syncmaster 2220wm monitor. Before this I had a small 17' LCD. The performance in games and other things I have noticed has been astounding. One of the best features is that I can now network with my Xbox 360. This means that I can stream video, music and pictures between the 2. Unfortunately only one of my GFX cards has arrived so I have to play my Crysis demo on medium :O. With my new computer I decided to switch to Vista my experience with vista was minimal and I'd heard some bad things about it. Overall my opinion on Vista is that it's performed pretty good so far. Nothing major to complain about, I don't really mind when it asks me about stuff although; sometimes it does slow stuff or something =O. I'm thinking of disabling the Windows Firewall and just going with AVG. But I am unsure because I don't know very much about Vista and it's security.

For the last few months I've been saving up money for a new computer. My current one is like 5 or 6 years old and made by HP (effectively the anathema of a gaming PC). I'm currently 90$ away, which is very annoying. I've already purchased the Graphics Card which is a Geforce 7800 GT. I'm buying a Barebones Rig to put it in. Unfortunately due to the fact that I'm saving my money I haven't been able to purchase any of the new sweet games like CoD4 or UT3, although once I get my new PC they're my first priority. My new Computers Specz are probably worse than many peoples current computer. In the near future I'm hoping to get a part time job (I applied at a few places). Which would let me better designate my resources.
New computer specs:
Dual Core Intel 2.4ghz
2g of Corsair Ram
Geforce 7800 GT 256mb
an ASUS motherboard (don't remeber the exact name)
160 gb 7200rpm Hard Drive
450 Watt Power Supply
