Games for Linux?

I'm getting the E 900 Laptop for my summer course, I'm getting the 20g linux version. I was wondering if anyone knew of some low system req linux compatible games. Secondarily, can Steam or WoW run on Linux? I'm fairly sure it comes with Ubuntu installed. Another thing, can one viably run games off an external HD or Memory?

    ive been able to run simple games like ones i ripped off of addictinggames.com on a flash drives but im not sure if thats wat your asking

    I have known several people that have gotten WoW to run quite well on Wine.
