Overview
Mass Effect is A third person shooter in a sci-fi universe. You play as commander Shepard, you fly around in your ship to different planets completing missions and assignments. (Although many argue it should technically be called 'Mass Affect'.) Hours Played: roughly 20 Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket


Story
You can choose your background information and aesthetics at the beginning of the game or you can go with a preset. The background story starts in the distant future. All humans are part of "The Alliance" which is the faction that represents earth on an intergalactic level. (I found the story kind of like that of Star Trek except less to do with warp technology.) Your goal in the game is to capture/kill a rogue SPECTRE named Saren and to find out about the Reapers who plan to cause the possible end to organic life as we know it.


Graphics
The graphics in the game are some of the best seen on the 360 so far. The only minor flaw is it sometimes takes a few seconds to load detail which can be slightly annoying. Despite this factor it seamlessly moves from cinematic to game play. Although really important cinematic sequences look better,such as the one at the end of the game.


Gameplay
The Gameplay is kind of like gears of war. By that I mean the combat is very cover centric TPS. I personally like the combat in this game better than GoW. Although it could have used the ability to "mount" more objects and cover. The class system in this game is interesting you can choose between 6 different classes which vary in skills and abilities. The classes resemble those from a Pen and Paper RPG. The "Choose Your Own Adventure" aspect of the game gives it high replay value, because depending on what you say the outcome can vary drastically. There is also a good and evil aspect to the game the alignment choices are 'Renegade' and 'Paragon' depending on your chat decisions and actions you gain points in either. This affects the outcome of the game. Another aspect of the game is going around with a squad which you choose at the beginning of every planet. You're able to meet different potential squad members as you progress through the game; although you can choose whether or not to let them join you. You can also lose squad members permanently throughout the game. Every time you level your allocated a certain amount of "skill points" you use these to specialize your character in the field provided. These fields are determined by your class.

Sound
The ambient background sound to the game is surprisingly peaceful. Although when you engage in combat or your 'health is Critically Low!' it will play more intense music, overall the sound in this game delivers as it should and sets the appropriate atmosphere.

Extras
The Extras in this game have yet to be released. N/A Although there is a book that depicts a prologue to the game, titled Revelation.
